Stella is everything you'd expect in a Golden Retriever...and then some! She is a happy, loving, mature gal, but don't let the grey in the face scare you! There's a LOT of life left in this sweet gal. Stella integrated seamlessly with the pack of 4 dogs in her foster home. Her personality is such that she just takes things in stride, doesn't challenge the existing pack leader, and enjoys her canine pals. She simply ADORES human interaction and attention and I believe she would do wonderfully either as an only dog or as part of a pack.

Stella is perfectly house-broken, havent heard her bark even once in the weeks she's been in her foster home, she loves to chew on an antler here and there, and has only ever chosen appropriate toys and bones to play with. Typical of a Golden, you will often see her with a tennis ball hanging out in her mouth! I am sure she'd love to chase it and play fetch, however Stella has been overly "loved" with treats in her past and is a bit chubby at the moment! We are working on her feeding regimen and introducing appropriate amounts of exercise based on her current abilities. It's making a difference in her energy level already!

She had a visit to the "Spa" in mid-January and was perfectly behaved. She loves everyone and truly embodies the very best in a Golden Retriever! She wants nothing more than to be someone's best friend!

When you adopt a pet from Midwest Animal Rescue and Services, your adoption fee covers: Microchip and registration, Core Vaccines including Rabies, Distemper and bordetella, age appropriate heartworm testing or FeLV-FIV testing, sterilization, heartworm/flea-tick prevention and deworming while in foster care.

Long Distance Adoptions: Animals who are not fully vaccinated and altered are not eligible for long distance adoption. We require a meet of the pet prior to adoption, which means coming to MARS. We do not transport to potential adopters.

Adoption fees are non-negotiable and can be paid by cashier's check, money order or credit card. We do not accept personal checks.

Post Adoption: Any issues that arise after adoption are the full responsibility of the adopter after the finalization of adoption. We highly recommend Pet Insurance. Adoption fees are only part of the expense of owning a pet, so we ask you to consider the costs for the life of the pet before adoption. We recommend pet insurance.
