Meet Ryder! This stunning, jet-black GSD boy is 18-months-old and looking for a home to call his own. Not much is known about his history, but there’s no doubt he will make a wonderful addition to the right family. Ryder is playful, friendly, and affectionate, and he loves being with his people. He’s crate-trained, but he would much rather spend time with you than by himself. This boy is especially fond of children, and he loves playing with his foster family’s nieces. He’s still learning how big he is, though, so he might do best in a home with kids age 7 and up. Ryder enjoys the company of other dogs, but he’s a bit too interested in cats. A cat-free home would likely be best.

Like most adolescent GSDs, Ryder is a very energetic boy. He would love to accompany you while jogging, biking, hiking, or any other activity you have in mind. And if you have a good throwing arm, he’ll play fetch as long as you’d like. Afterward, Ryder would like nothing better than to lay at your feet and get a belly rub. According to his foster family, there are two things Ryder really doesn’t like: firecrackers and thunderstorms. They make him anxious and uncomfortable. Otherwise, he’s a strong, confident GSD. Ryder is smart as a whip, and he learns commands quickly. He’ll test boundaries at times, but he responds well to strong but loving leadership.
