Description:
FOSTER HOME NEEDEDHello there! I'm Roscoe, a 4 year old brindle American Bulldog mix. I'm strong but gentle! I weigh around 75-80 lbs. I'm looking for someone with a fenced yard, because that's how I ended up needing a new home in the first place. I got lost! When I go outside, you will see me with my nose to the ground sniffing all the smells I missed while at the pound. The best thing about me is that I still have spunk but I'm not a puppy anymore. I don't need to be POTTY TRAINED. The ladies at the pound always commented on how I woouldn't even go potty in my cold cell like most of the other dogs. Fortunately, I was able to get out of the pound, and am in a foster home now. I would love to have a strong willed friend like me in my life. I know it's you so please fill out an application so we can meet. Love, Roscoe NOTE FROM ROSCOE'S EMERGENCY FOSTER:I want everyone to know what a GREAT dog Roscoe is! He has the most mellow temperament. The only time he has barked since getting here is for treats. Here is a run down a of a usual day for Roscoe. He likes to sleep in. Roscoe is a champ, just wandering the yard and laying on the deck. Roscoe does get a little nervous if you leave him outside alone for too long, but then he just comes and sits by the back door. Outdoors he enjoys chasing the tennis ball and football. We go for walks, and he is learning to run next to the bicycle. Roscoe does prefer to have a dog bed to lay on, if not he will find a comfy chair or couch for himself. Roscoe is great with other dogs. He has been in close contact with a beagle, Shepard/newfoundland, yellow lab, poodle, and black lab since he has been here. All family dogs, that for the most part liked him as well. He hangs with the Shepard/newfoundland the most as he lives just down the street. He would do great in a home with another dog. He does show excitement when it comes to cats, we pass a few on our walks. As far as kids go he doesn't really pay any attention to them. My nephew, who is 15 months, loves to give him treats and hold his collar while he walks. Roscoe is very well mannered. He has no interest in "people food" so he doesn't beg. He knows the commands sit, down and stay. He will shake and speak for treats. He is learning to let people out and in the door first, he sits and waits to be invited in or out. Roscoe loves to ride in the car and either lays down or sits and looks out the window. If your are looking for a great dog check him out. You will have a hard time finding one sweeter than Roscoe. Why not take this opportunity to make a huge difference in the life of a sweet big boy who needs some help? Please feel free to fill out an Adoption Application on our main website, www.midwestanimalrescue.org, by clicking on the Form/Applications link under Website Features. Thank you!! When you adopt a pet from Midwest Animal Rescue and Services, your adoption fee covers: Microchip and registration, Core Vaccines including Rabies, Distemper and bordetella, age appropriate heartworm testing or FeLV-FIV testing, sterilization, heartworm/flea-tick prevention and deworming while in foster care. Long Distance Adoptions: Animals who are not fully vaccinated and altered are not eligible for long distance adoption. We require a meet of the pet prior to adoption, which means coming to MARS. We do not transport to potential adopters. How to learn more about a pet: Complete the application (click on the button above) to start our process for adopting or fostering a MARS Pet. Adoption fees are non-negotiable and can be paid by cashier's check, money order or credit card. We do not accept personal checks. Post Adoption: Any issues that arise after adoption are the full responsibility of the adopter after the finalization of adoption. We highly recommend Pet Insurance. Adoption fees are only part of the expense of owning a pet, so we ask you to consider the costs for the life of the pet before adoption. We recommend pet insurance. Pet Breeds: The pet you are viewing is a rescued pet which is most often from an animal control facility or Shelter partner. The breed(s) listed are our best guess and are in no way guaranteed. If you choose to DNA test your adopted pet, test results may vary from company to company and our breed guess may not be reflected in those results as it is just that, our best guess without knowing a pet’s full history.
