Meet Dewey (or Louie as I like to call him)…..he is a fun-loving, energetic little guy that loves to play with anyone willing to give him the time! Dewey sleeps in bed with his foster everynight and never leaves the bed....he is quite the snuggle bug! He thinks he is a lap dog because he likes to try and crawl up in his foster's lap. He loves being outside and checking out new smells and just romping around the snow. His favorite thing is to dive his head into the snow up to his ears and sniff out any critters that might be lurking beneath the snow! He is a smart boy and already knows how to sit on command and loves to give his paw on the “shake” command in return for treats. Dewey needs someone who is willing to give him plenty of exercise and love. He loves to be snuggled and stroked around his ears and if you make the time to play a little game of “fetch” with him, well he will be your best buddy! He would love to have another dog as a playmate, but would be fine with just a nice family willing to spend time with him. He is a bit energetic so may not be the best around small children unless he is supervised and taught how to behave around small children. He is crate-trained and house-trained and is a good watchdog! Are you ready to take on this loveable guy and be the leader and buddy that he needs? Then this is the dog for you….

When you adopt a pet from Midwest Animal Rescue and Services, your adoption fee covers: Microchip and registration, Core Vaccines including Rabies, Distemper and bordetella, age appropriate heartworm testing or FeLV-FIV testing, sterilization, heartworm/flea-tick prevention and deworming while in foster care. Long Distance Adoptions: Animals who are not fully vaccinated and altered are not eligible for long distance adoption. We require a meet of the pet prior to adoption, which means coming to MARS. Adoption fees are non-negotiable and can be paid by cashier's check, money order or credit card. We do not accept personal checks. Adoption fees are only part of the expense of owning a pet, so we ask you to consider the costs for the life of the pet before adoption. We recommend pet insurance.
