Description:GORGEOUS BLACK BEAUTY
JUST WANTS TO GO HOME!
Meet Mack!!
Mack was rescued from an animal control facility that only holds dogs for 7 days before putting them to sleep.
Mack had one big disadvantage: in many shelters, black dogs are the
last to be adopted.
We couldn't let this beautiful boy die simply because of his color!
Mack is:
~ A Kid Lover
~ Cat Friendly
~ Housebroken
~ A Snuggle Bug
~ Plays Well w/Others
Mack is a very sweet boy. This boy is truly a wonderful dog. He is very food motivated as most labs are and he is very eager to please and is quick to learn. He is also on the small size weighing in at only 45-50 lbs.
Mack truly will make a wonderful addition to any home.
A NOTE FROM MACK'S FOSTER HOME:
Mack spent an hour at the dog park in Victoria after we picked him up and he made instant buddies with a hound mix that what almost twice his size. There were also a King Charles Spaniel and two Italian Greyhounds there. He played wonderfully with them all.
Mack has assimilated beautifully with the kids and doesn't give my cat the time of day! I also sent a picture from when he was beneath my desk. I was sitting there paying bills and before I knew it he was squeezing under to take a nap.
He LOVES to play ball and he does not beg for food. He kisses everyone he meets, 2 or 4 legged, and he likes to snuggle. He also plays very well with our cat! He will follow you around as you are moving from room to room because he does not want to be left behind. He is a very big sweetheart!
He loves to snuggle with me when I sleep. He is crated when we leave because he does like to get into trouble but only when unattended. If he is out of his crate while one of us is taking a nap, he doesn't seem tempted to get into any thing. He wants nothing more than to be near you. He absolutely loves to visit the dog park and go for car rides! Mack is 100% potty trained.
He loves to play ball and runs as if he is an antelope, bounding all the way! He "sits" well but is so excited about treats when we attempt to teach "lay down" but we are still working on it. When we feed him, he must "sit" and "wait" and only eats when we say "ok". He knows how to "sit", "wait" and "get out" using nonverbal commands. He is very smart and is eager to please for treats.
He gets along with every dog we have introduced him to and loves it when his girlfriend Poppy (our previous foster) comes to visit when her mom is out of town!

Long Distance Adoptions: Animals who are not fully vaccinated and altered are not eligible for long distance adoption. We require a meet of the pet prior to adoption, which means coming to MARS. We do not transport to potential adopters.

Adoption fees are non-negotiable and can be paid by cashier's check, money order or credit card. We do not accept personal checks.
Post Adoption: Any issues that arise after adoption are the full responsibility of the adopter after the finalization of adoption. We highly recommend Pet Insurance. Adoption fees are only part of the expense of owning a pet, so we ask you to consider the costs for the life of the pet before adoption. We recommend pet insurance.
Pet Breeds: The pet you are viewing is a rescued pet which is most often from an animal control facility or Shelter partner. The breed(s) listed are our best guess and are in no way guaranteed.
If you choose to DNA test your adopted pet, test results may vary from company to company and our breed guess may not be reflected in those results as it is just that, our best guess without knowing a pet’s full history.
