Dexter is such an adorable pup! He is so calm and laid back that sometimes I forget that he is sitting right next to me! He is a very "attached" pup, too. He literally follows me around the house every second of every day. He has a thing for women and did the same thing with my sister-in-law when she was with him. A ladies man, perhaps?

He can be a little anxious when left, but we have done some research on tactics to help this and he is improving. He doesn't get excited about many things and rarely plays with toys so it's tough to find "positive reinforcement" for him while we are not home. It would be great if he could find a home with a retired couple or someone who is home more often!!!

He is a perfect doggie-guest, though. He doesn't need to be kenneled, never leaves a mess (unless you leave a garbage can out) and has a bladder of steel! We have noticed that he likes women better than men. He won't go anywhere with my husband when I am around. The same when we have male friends over. He sticks as close to the women as possible. We are working on getting him to trust my husband more : )

Dex is pretty good with just about everyone, but the little ones need to be trained on how to approach and interact with Dexter properly. Whoever adopts Dex really needs to commit to giving him daily walks. He doesn't get excited about much but he LOVES his walks. I have never seen such a mellow dog get so excited about the word "walk"- he practically gets his leash for you! I'd hate to deprive him of his biggest pleasure in life.

Dexter is a bit of a chunker and could stand to lose a good 3 or 4 pounds! Dexter's other favorites include peanut butter, sleeping in bed with us, perching on the top of my couch so he can see out the window and tearing around the yard with his playmates Myloh and Bella.
