I was named for Teddy Ruxpin, the toy bear that became animated when you put a card in his back. But all you have to do to animate me is to pay some attention to me!

Hi!

My name is Ruxpin, I'm a 2 year old Boxer boy with plenty of personality and get-up-and-go I'm so worried that I will never have my own family to love me :0(.

Whenever people walk by my kennel my tail tends to whirl with excitement, much like a helicopter. I'm a very happy boy just wanting to be loved! When I get really happy my shelter friends say that I jump like a kangaroo!

Guess what? I even passed all of my shelter temperament tests with flying colors. I was told that I'm a very obedient fellow. They hugged me and touched all over, I took treats very gently. I released toys and didn't’t mind a bit when my food bowl was messed with.

We boxers are happy, high-spirited, curious and loyal dogs. We make good family pets, we need to be taught NOT to jump, as it’s in our blood to jump up and use our front paws like a boxer!

I promise that I can learn to play gently with kids if you will take the time to teach me the rules I must follow. I’ll do best with an active family who are familiar with boxer kids. I'm not a couch potato dog, I want to see the world and go for walks and car rides!

When you adopt a pet from Midwest Animal Rescue and Services, your adoption fee covers: Microchip and registration, Core Vaccines including Rabies, Distemper and bordetella, age appropriate heartworm testing or FeLV-FIV testing, sterilization, heartworm/flea-tick prevention and deworming while in foster care.

Long Distance Adoptions: Animals who are not fully vaccinated and altered are not eligible for long distance adoption. We require a meet of the pet prior to adoption, which means coming to MARS. We do not transport to potential adopters.

Adoption fees are non-negotiable and can be paid by cashier's check, money order or credit card. We do not accept personal checks.

Post Adoption: Any issues that arise after adoption are the full responsibility of the adopter after the finalization of adoption. We highly recommend Pet Insurance. Adoption fees are only part of the expense of owning a pet, so we ask you to consider the costs for the life of the pet before adoption. We recommend pet insurance.
