Description:
Meet Zula! Zula is a loving girl who has been wonderful in her foster home. She is currently living with 4 other dogs, two adults and a 10 year old child. She is reliably housebroken and has great house manners. She is a quiet dog who has not been heard to bark even once. She has a little whine that she uses when she wants to get your attention, but it is easily quieted. She welcomes new guests to the house with a happy hello, but does not bark or jump.
Zula loves to chase and fetch rope toys and will run around the yard like crazy playing chase with the other dogs. She is high energy outside, but is quite calm in the house. She rides quietly in the car and seems to enjoy the car rides. She is quiet in a kennel although has not been sleeping in one at night...she'd rather cuddle up with family or on a soft cushion somewhere.
Zula is used to eating separately from the other dogs and does not like to share her food but we are working on her being more tolerant of other dogs in her eating space. She is 100% respectful of humans though - she will sit nicely and wait for her food to be placed down, and takes treats gently in a calm sitting position.
She is a very smart dog and responds very well to a verbal correction or redirection. As a Border Collie, she is VERY smart and observant. She pays close attention and listens to everything going on around her. She will benefit greatly from obedience training, and would make a great agility dog!!! With her beautiful black and white coat, her loving demeanor and extreme intelligence, she will be a WONDERFUL addition to a family! If you would like to bring this sweety home, please click on the ADOPT button below to fill out a application. You will then have a home visit and then get to meet your new pooch! When you adopt a pet from Midwest Animal Rescue and Services, your adoption fee covers: Microchip and registration, Core Vaccines including Rabies, Distemper and bordetella, age appropriate heartworm testing or FeLV-FIV testing, sterilization, heartworm/flea-tick prevention and deworming while in foster care. Long Distance Adoptions: Animals who are not fully vaccinated and altered are not eligible for long distance adoption. We require a meet of the pet prior to adoption, which means coming to MARS. We do not transport to potential adopters. How to learn more about a pet: Complete the application (click on the button above) to start our process for adopting or fostering a MARS Pet. Adoption fees are non-negotiable and can be paid by cashier's check, money order or credit card. We do not accept personal checks. Post Adoption: Any issues that arise after adoption are the full responsibility of the adopter after the finalization of adoption. We highly recommend Pet Insurance. Adoption fees are only part of the expense of owning a pet, so we ask you to consider the costs for the life of the pet before adoption. We recommend pet insurance. Pet Breeds: The pet you are viewing is a rescued pet which is most often from an animal control facility or Shelter partner. The breed(s) listed are our best guess and are in no way guaranteed. If you choose to DNA test your adopted pet, test results may vary from company to company and our breed guess may not be reflected in those results as it is just that, our best guess without knowing a pet’s full history.
