Description:
Hi there, I’m Duncan!
I pretty much operate in two modes: high‑energy chaos gremlin or completely relaxed cuddlebug. When I’m revved up (which is a lot of the time!), I zoom back and forth to you for pets, get adorably over‑enthusiastic during playtime, and chase toys like it’s my full‑time job. When I’m relaxed, I’m all purrs and naps—often right on my foster mom’s desk so I can “help” with her work. Even with all that energy, I’m incredibly gentle in temperament. I’m basically a big kitten who loves life, loves my people, and really loves treats. Wet food is great, but squeeze-tube treats? Those are my absolute weakness. I forget everything else exists when those come out. One of the most important things to know about me is that I adore other cats. Truly. They help me burn off my playful energy, give me confidence when I’m nervous, and make me feel safe. When I meet a new cat, I run right up hoping we’ll become instant best friends and wrestling buddies. Because of this, I need to go to a home with another friendly, playful cat who wants a buddy like I do. I can be shy in new situations, so I’ll need a bit of time to adjust. Sudden noises or unfamiliar things might make me dart away at first, but my social, energetic side always wins out. With a little patience—and squeeze‑tube treats!—I’ll come around and show you my sparkling personality. My foster mom can also give you tips on how to help me feel safe and confident in my new home. If you’re looking for a gentle, goofy, high‑energy sweetheart who will reward your love with purrs, zoomies, and endless entertainment, I think we’ll be the perfect match. If you have previously applied with us please email placement@midwestanimalrescue.org to reactivate your application with new interest. When you adopt a pet from Midwest Animal Rescue and Services, your adoption fee covers: Microchip and registration, Core Vaccines including Rabies, Distemper and bordetella, age appropriate heartworm testing or FeLV-FIV testing, sterilization, heartworm/flea-tick prevention and deworming while in foster care. Long Distance Adoptions: Animals who are not fully vaccinated and altered are not eligible for long distance adoption. We require a meet of the pet prior to adoption, which means coming to MARS. We do not transport to potential adopters. How to learn more about a pet: Complete the application (click on the button above) to start our process for adopting or fostering a MARS Pet. Adoption fees are non-negotiable and can be paid by cashier's check, money order or credit card. We do not accept personal checks. Post Adoption: Any issues that arise after adoption are the full responsibility of the adopter after the finalization of adoption. We highly recommend Pet Insurance. Adoption fees are only part of the expense of owning a pet, so we ask you to consider the costs for the life of the pet before adoption. We recommend pet insurance. Pet Breeds: The pet you are viewing is a rescued pet which is most often from an animal control facility or Shelter partner. The breed(s) listed are our best guess and are in no way guaranteed. If you choose to DNA test your adopted pet, test results may vary from company to company and our breed guess may not be reflected in those results as it is just that, our best guess without knowing a pet’s full history.
