Description:
Meet Dazzie! The Sweetest Adventure Buddy You Could Ask For Dazzie (short for Dazzle) is a loving, well-behaved, playful girl who is patiently waiting for her forever home. We truly can't understand why she hasn't been adopted yet, she is such a sweet girl! Dazzle would love an active family who enjoys spending time outdoors and/or has a nice big fenced in yard. She loves playing tug-of-war, catching toys (she's got an impressive vertical jump!), and is a cuddle bug! She's a big fan of walks, whether it's a stroll around the neighborhood or an exciting nature hike where she can sniff all the smells. We think she’d even make a great short-distance jogging partner! I would say she is not much of a shedder either, I saw a couple loose pieces of fur on her the other day, but she hasn't left any on our couch or in her kennel. This smart girl is kennel trained, going in easily on her own without whining or fussing. She’s always so happy to see you when you get home — be ready for lots of tail wags and cuddles! Dazzie would love nothing more than to snuggle in bed with you at night.
She slept with my teenager daughter one night and slept soundly through the night, curled up with her head on a pillow, barely moving until morning. (And yes, she has a tiny, adorable snore!)
Normally, she sleeps in her kennel to help her build good habits for her future family. But we can tell she'd love to be your bedtime buddy if that's allowed!
Dazzle is very responsive to commands and incredibly trainable. She’s smart, eager to please, and would do well with someone who enjoys teaching their dog new things. Basic obedience classes would help her shine even more! She's very quiet in the house — the only times she’s barked were when she first spotted our cats or when she sees squirrels and birds playing outside the window (who could blame her?). Otherwise, she's calm and respectful indoors.
I was told she wasn't great with other dogs when we got her but, our neighbor dog, she seems to be fine with, they only play through the fence, but I haven't seen any aggression, cowering, or other behaviors that would give me worry. We were also told she is good with cats...that one, I am still trying to decide. I think she is a bit TOO excited for cats and I haven't allowed her to get near ours without having her on a leash.
All said, Dazzie is truly a gem; sweet, playful, smart, cuddly, and ready to have her very own forever home. All she needs is a family that can give her the love and attention she deserves.
If you have previously applied with us please email placement@midwestanimalrescue.org to reactivate your application with new interest. All fees are subject to MN sales tax and a processing fee at the time of adoption. We accept Credit cards, Debit cards as well as cash. At this time we do not accept checks. Our Adoption fees for all animals cover required vetting: which includes, Rabies, Distemper Vaccine Series, Bordetella, Deworming, Heartworm Test as age appropriate, Spay or Neuter and Microchip and registration. *The pet you are viewing is a rescued pet which is most often from an animal control facility and does not come with a pedigree. The breed(s) listed are our best guess and are in no way guaranteed. Sometimes the pets appear to be a particular breed(s) in the pictures we receive from our rescue partners and when they arrive we are surprised to see an entirely different breed(s) in person! If you choose to DNA test your adopted pet, test results may vary from company to company and our breed guess may not be reflected in those results as it is just that, our best guess. It is with deep longing that we wish there was a breed called "cute" as we believe all of our dogs would fall under this new breed classification! Completion of an Adoption Application via our website www.midwestanimalrescue.org is the best way to show your interest in an animal and is the first step in our adoption process.
*Animals who are not fully vaccinated and altered are not eligible for long distance adoption. When you adopt a pet from Midwest Animal Rescue and Services, your adoption fee covers: Microchip and registration, Core Vaccines including Rabies, Distemper and bordetella, age appropriate heartworm testing or FeLV-FIV testing, sterilization, heartworm/flea-tick prevention and deworming while in foster care. Adoption fees are non-negotiable and can be paid by cashier's check, money order or credit card. We do not accept personal checks. Any issues that arise after adoption are the full responsibility of the adopter after the finalization of adoption. Adoption fees are only part of the expense of owning a pet, so we ask you to consider the costs for the life of the pet before adoption. We recommend pet insurance.
