Meet Calvin!

Make sure you have room on your couch and bed for this guy because he is ALL about the snuggling!

This is one super cuddly guy that wants nothing more than your attention and love. He has the biggest smile and loves discovering new things.

Calvin also snorts and grunts like a little piggy, especially when he is excited. He likes to go outside and run around, and will chase the kong ball around all day long if you let him.

He gets along great with his the other dogs in his foster home too. They like to play tug of war, and keep-a-way, and will even drink out of the water dish together. When they are done playing, they curl up on the couch or floor with each other for a nice nap.

Calvin is also excellent with cats and enjoys being around children. However, the foster family feels he should be in a family with children that are of middle school age or older since he gets very excited when people come home or over to visit, and could easily knock a small child over.

Calvin behaves as if everything is the newest and coolest thing he has seen and must investigate it, but he does need a little work on walking on a leash. Since he is very strong, it would be best if he was walked by an adult. He has learned many commands, like “sit”, “down” and “dance!” and his foster family is working on “stay”, and “come”. They think he would do even better with some training classes. Calvin would be great as a single dog in a family or with a submissive female that can handle rough play. If you let this sweet boy into your home, he will make you “awwwwww” every day!

When you adopt a pet from Midwest Animal Rescue and Services, your adoption fee covers: Microchip and registration, Core Vaccines including Rabies, Distemper and bordetella, age appropriate heartworm testing or FeLV-FIV testing, sterilization, heartworm/flea-tick prevention and deworming while in foster care.

Long Distance Adoptions: Animals who are not fully vaccinated and altered are not eligible for long distance adoption. We require a meet of the pet prior to adoption, which means coming to MARS. We do not transport to potential adopters.

Adoption fees are non-negotiable and can be paid by cashier's check, money order or credit card. We do not accept personal checks.

Post Adoption: Any issues that arise after adoption are the full responsibility of the adopter after the finalization of adoption. We highly recommend Pet Insurance. Adoption fees are only part of the expense of owning a pet, so we ask you to consider the costs for the life of the pet before adoption. We recommend pet insurance.
