Description:

Meet Zooie AKA June Bug

June Bug is a gal with a bright future ahead of her. She’s had a bit of a rocky past, and was found abandoned in a pet store. Yet she is a positive, energetic two year old 10 pound terrier who is ready to take on some new and exciting adventures.

JB loves the out of doors, is on alert when she sees her leash come out and runs to the door to be ready to start the journey. She is pretty good on leash, can easily walk 2 + miles and is curious at everything around her.

She loves toys, can play fetch, (til she’s bored and then moves on to the next game), and enjoys seeking out new doggie toys from her toy box. She sleeps through the night and wakes up ready to go. She’s not chewed anything in the house or shown any
interest in doing so.

June Bug takes all the attention she can get, springing into laps and hanging with her people on the couch. She’s sensitive to
some touch on her hind quarters and does puppy biting to let you know that is not her favorite spot to be petted. A home with small
children is not recommended.

Once she gets to know you she is very sweet and friendly. When meeting new people, she can be quite vocal, so shared walls might not be in her best interest.

She’s absolutely the most adorable young dog, with those intense eyes and dominating, stand up ears. She bears a large, well healed scar on her back that doesn’t bother her. It’s just a reminder that her past is unknown, had some challenges and that she has pulled through it with courage, tenacity, a great big personality and can do attitude!

Thank You!

When you adopt a pet from Midwest Animal Rescue and Services, your adoption fee covers: Microchip and registration, Core Vaccines including Rabies, Distemper and bordetella, age appropriate heartworm testing or FeLV-FIV testing, sterilization, heartworm/flea-tick prevention and deworming while in foster care.

Long Distance Adoptions: Animals who are not fully vaccinated and altered are not eligible for long distance adoption. We require a meet of the pet prior to adoption, which means coming to MARS.  We do not transport to potential adopters.

How to learn more about a pet: Complete the application (click on the button above) to start our process for adopting or fostering a MARS Pet.

Adoption fees are non-negotiable and can be paid by cashier's check, money order or credit card. We do not accept personal checks.

Post Adoption: Any issues that arise after adoption are the full responsibility of the adopter after the finalization of adoption. We highly recommend Pet Insurance.  Adoption fees are only part of the expense of owning a pet, so we ask you to consider the costs for the life of the pet before adoption. We recommend pet insurance.

Pet Breeds: The pet you are viewing is a rescued pet which is most often from an animal control facility or Shelter partner. The breed(s) listed are our best guess and are in no way guaranteed.

If you choose to DNA test your adopted pet, test results may vary from company to company and our breed guess may not be reflected in those results as it is just that, our best guess without knowing a pet’s full history.
