Description:
Hi my name is, Denver! I am a handsome Boxer with a lot of typical boxer traits. I love cuddling up on the couch with my people (and the other boxer in my foster home). I enjoy bouncing around and play time outside in the yard. My current yard consist of a 4ft chain link fence which I notice I’m usually supervised by my foster mom while I’m outside just to ensure I don’t try any funny-business to get out. By the way, I have not. I have a love for a few special toys (Kong, chew toy, etc.). When I play with my toys, I play with them while in my crate or during alone time as I usually don’t like sharing my favorite toys with my other fur-family members in the home. I am crate trained and will go in willingly when a treat and or a toy is involved. My foster mom usually leaves a little background music on for me, country music, which is my favorite. While I may whine a little once I go inside my crate (only because I want to be with you) after a few minutes I quiet down and wait for your return. At bed time I’m a little spoiled, I get to sleep with my people and fur-family members on the bed, however, I would probably sleep just as a great on a dog bed on the floor. I enjoy going on walks, and like most dogs, I walk my best with a harness to stop me from getting too excited and pulling. I’ve learned some basic commands like sit, shake and stay all of which I do especially well when treats are involved. I enjoy “treat time” …I mean “training time” as it helps me become the best dog I can be and continue to learn fun tricks and commands. I am totally house trained and my foster mom keeps telling me what a great dog I am and that the perfect fur-ever family will be lucky to have me. p.s. One last thing I forgot to mention, the vet told me I have Heartworm but not to worry as it is not contagious to your animals as it is passed by mosquitos. Mars will cover the cost of my heartworm treatment. Please don’t let this little bump in the road stop you from helping me find my way to my fur-ever-family. When you adopt a pet from Midwest Animal Rescue and Services, your adoption fee covers: Microchip and registration, Core Vaccines including Rabies, Distemper and bordetella, age appropriate heartworm testing or FeLV-FIV testing, sterilization, heartworm/flea-tick prevention and deworming while in foster care. Long Distance Adoptions: Animals who are not fully vaccinated and altered are not eligible for long distance adoption. We require a meet of the pet prior to adoption, which means coming to MARS. We do not transport to potential adopters. How to learn more about a pet: Complete the application (click on the button above) to start our process for adopting or fostering a MARS Pet. Adoption fees are non-negotiable and can be paid by cashier's check, money order or credit card. We do not accept personal checks. Post Adoption: Any issues that arise after adoption are the full responsibility of the adopter after the finalization of adoption. We highly recommend Pet Insurance. Adoption fees are only part of the expense of owning a pet, so we ask you to consider the costs for the life of the pet before adoption. We recommend pet insurance. Pet Breeds: The pet you are viewing is a rescued pet which is most often from an animal control facility or Shelter partner. The breed(s) listed are our best guess and are in no way guaranteed. If you choose to DNA test your adopted pet, test results may vary from company to company and our breed guess may not be reflected in those results as it is just that, our best guess without knowing a pet’s full history.
